You can participate in teaching in the orphanages, schools, women organizations, environmental and health projects, sport coaching, computing, handicapped care, after care work and we can tailor you a project as well. We assist you to contact our country representatives and for a special program package or tasks you can contact us directly as well.

You can also select adventure & community work packages.

 

 
Art in Zanzibar
      

Background
Art in Zanzibar is a Finnish - Tanzanian (Zanzibarian) NGO. We arrange various community based projects at Zanzibar Art in Zanzibar is a sister organization to Art in Tanzania operating in mainland Tanzania. We also operate at Ethiopia as Art in Ethiopia

Presently you can attend our projects at historical stone town (volunteer's hotel as a base) and at Makunduchi Region at East South coast of Zanzibar Island at Mzuri Kaja village in private housing.

We need volunteers for various types of projects including educational projects in nursery, primary, secondary schools up to adult vocational training. We have several medical projects in hospitals as well as HIV projects, sports, music & art projects, orphanage projects etc.

Our Objectives
Our main objective is to enhance the livelihood of the poor societies and to be part of the tasks to develop the performance of the schools.

Zanzibar
Zanzibar spice Islands are a famous tourist destination. However the there is lot of work to help the children and poor societies all over the Island. A volunteer attending at Zanzibar can enjoy the tourist attractions and simultaneously help.

We have a volunteers hotel at the Historical Stone Town where you have a walking distance for your projects. At the village at Mzuri Kaja, the accommodation is in private houses and you can also just walk to the projects.

Other
You can also attend our other projects at the mainland Tanzania with Art in Tanzania as well as the numerous low cost safaris we perform for the volunteer's as part of our fund raising. You can also consider to volunteer in our Ethiopia projects with Art in Ethiopia.

Aside helping at Zanzibar you relax free time visiting the numerous tourism attractions around the Island. At evening times at stone town you find delicious food and plentiful night life. At the villages you can socialize with the friendly Zanzibari people and enjoy better beaches than at the town area.
Adventures      

We arrange cultural wildlife safaris for wildlife lovers and enthusiasts. All safari programs are tailored upon your specific interests. Safari and adventure income is used to develop the community work projects. Also note that the volunteers safaris are special prices about half od the tourist cost to appreciate your work in the projects.
